For hats, do you have any opinions? Or maybe in your opinion, it’s just keeping warm or playing cool. Yes, a hat is a necessity for fashion people. It’s not special for girls without hats, but it will be lack of something when you are used to it.
Today digstories will share a story about two designers and their hats who are twin sisters Sara Brady and Ashley Cornil from San Francisco Bay. They specialize in designing handmade hates including wool-hat and straw hat.
When they were young, they were good at handwork who they followed their father as carpenters and learned cooking skill. So Cornil chose visual design at college and Brady studied fine art in college. Until 2013, after studying in Wayne Wichern hat store, they found their hobbies to design female hat. They established their hat design brand Kin/K which aims to design for cool and confident women.
The twin sisters have a passion for traveling and they have visited 14 countries around the globe from which they get inspirations and turn them into their designs. In their opinion, the woman living in the city is not easy to take relax. So they hope to bring a little bit of California cool to the complex city life through the hats.
All of the raw material of wool-hat are from a branch with the history of 130 years. The knitting technology of straw hat is tradition craft which spreads for hundreds of years. The materials are palm silk from Ecuador and then craftsman weave that.
